PHNOM PENH, June 15, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Manet will travel to Russia this week to attend a summit marking 35 years of dialogue relations between ASEAN and Moscow, the Foreign Ministry said Monday.
Samdech Techo will lead a high‑level delegation to the ASEAN–Russia Commemorative Summit in Kazan from June 17–18 at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.
The Cambodian team will include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron, senior officials and private‑sector representatives.
The summit will commemorate the 35th anniversary of ASEAN–Russia dialogue relations and provide a platform for leaders to discuss ways to deepen the strategic partnership.
Talks are expected to cover peace, stability and economic development, alongside broader regional and international issues.
On the sidelines, Samdech Techo Hun Manet is scheduled to attend related events and hold bilateral meetings aimed at expanding cooperation and strengthening Cambodia’s ties with regional and global partners.
The Cambodia’s participation underscores its commitment to multilateral diplomacy and engagement with major powers.

ASEAN and Russia established dialogue relations in 1991, with cooperation expanding across trade, energy, education and security.
The Kazan summit is seen as a key diplomatic gathering as ASEAN and Russia seek to reinforce political, economic and strategic cooperation amid shifting global dynamics.
For Cambodia, the visit highlights its intent to balance regional partnerships while promoting investment and development opportunities.
