Cambodia Aligns Investment Drive with ASEAN Connectivity Plan 2026–2035
PHNOM PENH, Mar 4, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is aligning its investment promotion strategy with the newly launched ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan 2026–2035, as the government accelerates infrastructure development and prepares fresh global outreach missions to attract foreign direct investment, officials said Tuesday.
Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, met ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn in Phnom Penh.

Kim Hourn congratulated Cambodia on recent achievements, including the inauguration of Techo International Airport, rising FDI inflows and increased tourist arrivals. He also announced the ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan, aimed at strengthening integration and enhancing trade and transport linkages across Southeast Asia.
Chanthol highlighted Cambodia’s active role in previous ASEAN connectivity initiatives and stressed that infrastructure development remains central to the Kingdom’s strategy to integrate deeper into supply chains and improve logistics competitiveness.
He also outlined upcoming “door-knocking” missions by the CDC, targeting investors worldwide as part of a proactive effort to attract new FDI into priority sectors.
