PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Jan. 6, 2026) — Saudi investors are expected to visit Cambodia in 2026 to explore investment opportunities, according to the outgoing Saudi ambassador to Phnom Penh.

Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Cambodia, made the remarks during a farewell call on Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian Senate, at the Senate Palace on Tuesday.

Senate spokesperson Chea Thyrith said Dahlwy noted that investors would travel to Cambodia through the Saudi Chambers of Commerce to assess potential areas for cooperation and investment.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the announcement and thanked Dahlwy for his contributions to strengthening bilateral relations during his tenure. He highlighted the ambassador’s role in facilitating his previous official visit to Saudi Arabia, describing it as a reflection of growing ties between the two nations.

Dahlwy expressed gratitude for the meeting and said he had developed a strong appreciation for Cambodia and its people. He praised Cambodia’s continued development across multiple sectors and voiced hope the country would become one of the most developed in ASEAN.

He reaffirmed plans for the Saudi Chambers of Commerce to lead an investment delegation next year. Hun Sen said increased trade and investment cooperation would be central to future relations and emphasized the importance of continued exchanges and stronger people-to-people ties.
