WASHINGTON, U.S (Oct,03, 2025) — Cambodia’s Ambassador to the United States, Koy Kuong, met with Michael B. Alfaro on Oct. 2 during a courtesy visit at the Cambodian Embassy in Washington, where he presented Alfaro with a letter of appreciation for his support on the Cambodia–Thailand border issue.

The letter recognized Alfaro’s efforts to share accurate and balanced information about Cambodia, particularly regarding the ongoing border dispute with Thailand.

“We value Mr. Alfaro’s contributions to fostering a better understanding of Cambodia’s position on regional issues,” Koy said.

The meeting highlighted Cambodia’s continued diplomatic outreach to international partners and thought leaders amid rising regional tensions.

Alfaro has reportedly promoted factual narratives through media and policy channels, helping to counter misinformation surrounding recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.

The meeting also reflects the Cambodian government’s broader initiative to strengthen public diplomacy and international engagement in key capitals such as Washington.
