Cambodian PM Leads Delegation to Strengthen Ties and Explore Investment in Vietnam

PHNOM PENH, June 8, 2026 (KPT) — Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet is leading a delegation including Cambodian business leaders on an official visit to Hanoi aimed at enhancing diplomatic relations and exploring new investment opportunities, officials said Monday.

The two‑day visit, from June 8–9, features Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chair of ASEAN‑BAC Cambodia, among those joining the delegation. The group will take part in engagements designed to deepen trade, investment and diplomatic cooperation between the two neighbors.

Key activities include a working meeting with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a matchmaking event connecting Cambodian and Vietnamese companies. Delegates will also tour major enterprises in Hanoi, focusing on electronics manufacturing, to gain insights into Vietnam’s industrial development and identify opportunities in manufacturing, investment and technology sectors.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet will also attend the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi, where regional leaders and stakeholders will discuss ASEAN’s future development.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, bilateral trade between Cambodia and Vietnam reached $7.7 billion in 2025. Customs data show Cambodian exports to Vietnam totaled $1.99 billion between January and April this year, up 11.5 percent from the same period in 2025. Overall trade rose 4.3 percent to $3.36 billion, while imports from Vietnam fell 4.6 percent to $1.36 billion.
