Cambodia Registers $570 Million in New Investment Projects in May, Creating 26,000 Jobs
PHNOM PENH, June 12, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia approved 37 new investment projects worth about US$570 million in May, reinforcing momentum in the country’s investment climate and creating an estimated 26,000 jobs, official data showed Thursday.
The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) said 29 projects valued at US$544 million were cleared by the CDC, expected to generate around 23,000 jobs. These included 16 projects outside Special Economic Zones (SEZs), two SEZ development projects, and 11 projects located within SEZs.

Provincial‑Municipal Investment Sub‑Committees approved eight projects worth US$27 million, projected to create about 2,200 jobs.
Among the largest approvals was a US$210 million cement factory expansion in Kampot province, set to boost production capacity and add new facilities, creating more than 500 jobs. Another major project was a US$116 million SEZ development in Kampong Speu province, expected to generate over 500 jobs and strengthen Cambodia’s industrial base.
The latest approvals add to Cambodia’s strong investment performance this year. Earlier CDC data showed 146 projects worth US$2.5 billion were registered in the first quarter, with the potential to create around 82,000 jobs nationwide.
Cambodia’s investment pipeline has remained robust following a record year in 2025, when the CDC approved 630 projects valued at more than US$10 billion, underscoring sustained investor confidence across manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure and digital development.
