Samdech Techo Hun Sen Congratulates China’s Communist Party on 105th Anniversary, Hails ‘Ironclad Friendship’

PHNOM PENH, July 2, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) President Samdech Techo Hun Sen has congratulated Chinese President and Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping on the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), reaffirming what both sides describe as their “ironclad friendship.”
In a letter dated June 30, Hun Sen praised the CPC’s leadership and described China’s role in international affairs as increasingly constructive in promoting peace and dialogue.
He welcomed Beijing’s major international initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, saying they contribute to addressing global challenges and promoting a shared future for humanity.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen also congratulated China on its achievements under the 14th Five‑Year Plan (2020–2025) and expressed confidence that Beijing would successfully implement its 15th Five‑Year Plan (2026–2030).
The CPP president said bilateral relations had reached a new level through the building of what both countries call an “All‑Weather Cambodia‑China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.”
The letter concluded with Samdech Techo Hun Sen, who also serves as Senate president, extending his best wishes to Xi Jinping for good health and continued success, underscoring the depth of Cambodia’s ties with China.
