PHNOM PENH, Mar 4, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia is promoting its “Plus One” strategy to attract long-term joint venture partners at the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit, which concludes in Phnom Penh on Wednesday.

Addressing CEOs, investors and policymakers, Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chair of ASEAN-BAC Cambodia, said the summit was designed to move beyond dialogue and deliver “tangible commercial outcomes.”

“It is more than a social gathering. It is a strategic assembly designed to cultivate high-level partnerships,” he told delegates.

Central to this year’s agenda is Cambodia’s “Plus One” framework, positioning the Kingdom as a complementary destination for companies diversifying operations within ASEAN. Meng urged participants to view Cambodia “not just as a destination but as a strategic Plus-One partner,” citing modernized investment laws, expanding infrastructure and rapid digital integration.

He said reforms in logistics, investment regulations and digital transformation had strengthened Cambodia’s competitiveness and role in regional supply chains.

Prime Minister Hun Manet is expected to preside over the summit’s proceedings, a move Meng said underscored the government’s commitment to stability and investor confidence.

Cambodia’s business leaders are aiming for measurable results, with Meng encouraging delegates to use the summit’s platform to forge long-term joint ventures.

The two-day summit is seen as a landmark opportunity to deepen cross-border partnerships and reinforce Cambodia’s ambition to become a high-tech, skilled-industry hub within ASEAN.
