PHNOM PENH,Cambodia (Nov. 19, 2025) — Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism will organize the “Cambodia-China International Tourism Business Matching 2025” from Dec. 18 to 20 in Siem Reap province as part of the ongoing “Cambodia-China Tourism Year 2025” campaign.

The forum aims to connect Cambodian tourism businesses with Chinese companies from major cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Guilin, Shanghai and Nanning, as well as international buyers from ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. Sideline activities will include pre- and post-tours for Chinese buyers, along with participation from prominent media and influencers to boost Cambodia’s visibility in the Chinese and wider international market.

The ministry said the event is designed to strengthen tourism promotion and expand sales of Cambodia-China package tours, while encouraging participation from associations, tour operators, private sector representatives, media and the general public.

Cambodia welcomed about 4.3 million international visitors in the first nine months of 2025, an 8.8% decline compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Tourism. Thai nationals topped arrivals with more than 970,000 visits, though their numbers fell by 35.9%. Vietnamese tourists followed with over 900,000, down nearly 7%. By contrast, Chinese arrivals surged 46.3% to 880,000, underscoring the importance of the Cambodia-China tourism campaign. Arrivals from the United States and South Korea also declined, by 1.6% and 10.8% respectively.

Officials said the upcoming Siem Reap forum will help offset regional downturns by leveraging the sharp growth in Chinese tourism demand, while positioning Cambodia as a competitive destination for both leisure and business travel.
