Cambodia, Türkiye Set $1 Billion Trade Goal, Deepen Economic Cooperation
ANKARA, Türkiye (Nov.07, 2025) — Cambodia and Türkiye have pledged to boost bilateral trade to $1 billion, reaffirming their commitment to deepen economic ties across multiple sectors during the 4th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting held Tuesday in Ankara.

Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul and Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı co-chaired the meeting, which brought together senior officials and experts from both countries. The ministers emphasized the complementarity of their economies and agreed to pursue expanded cooperation in agriculture, food processing, packaging, health tourism, and medical equipment.
The JEC discussions covered a broad range of sectors, including trade in goods and services, civil aviation, transport, infrastructure, education, investment, science and technology, halal standards, water resources, tourism, health, labor, and vocational training. Both sides committed to implementing the activities outlined in the Joint Minutes of the meeting to advance these areas.

Later that evening, Nimul met with Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat to further discuss bilateral trade relations. The two ministers acknowledged the steady growth in trade volume and emphasized the strategic role each country plays as a gateway to broader regional markets—Türkiye to Europe and Cambodia to ASEAN and RCEP.
They agreed to encourage private sector engagement and to jointly organize business matching events, trade exhibitions, and promotional activities to facilitate new partnerships and investment opportunities.
