Cambodia, Motorola Explore Plans for Electronics Manufacturing and Tech Investment

WASHINGTON (Nov.07, 2025) — Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol met Wednesday with Motorola Inc. executives to discuss potential collaboration on telecommunications technology, public safety solutions, and the establishment of electronics manufacturing operations in Cambodia.

The meeting, held on the final day of Cambodia’s investment promotion mission to the United States, included senior officials from Cambodia’s Council for the Development, ministries of tourism, industry, science and innovation, and representatives from the Cambodian Oknha Association.

Sun encouraged Motorola to explore opportunities to set up manufacturing facilities in Cambodia, highlighting favorable investment conditions under the country’s new investment law, including tax incentives for companies producing telecommunications and electronic components.

Motorola expressed interest in Cambodia’s evolving investment climate and infrastructure modernization efforts. The company also signaled its intent to work closely with Cambodian authorities to assess the feasibility of expanding its business presence through direct investment and technology solutions for both government and private sectors.

The meeting marked a potential step toward strengthening Cambodia’s digital economy and integrating the country into global supply chains for advanced electronics.
