COLOGNE, Germany (Oct. 6, 2025) — Cambodia officially launched its national rice pavilion at ANUGA 2025, the world’s leading food and beverage trade fair, to expand market access and promote the country’s premium rice to European and global buyers.

Secretary of State Samheng Bora, who also chairs the Export Promotion Task Force, led the Cambodian delegation to the opening ceremony on Oct. 4. He said the pavilion reflects Cambodia’s commitment to raising the international profile of its rice sector and attracting new investment.

The pavilion features 13 leading rice exporters showcasing a range of high-quality products and engaging with potential partners across Europe and beyond. While company names were not disclosed, officials emphasized the strategic importance of the pavilion in positioning Cambodian rice on the world stage.

Cambodia’s rice exports have shown a strong performance in 2025. Between January and August, the country exported more than 472,000 tonnes of milled rice, generating $348 million in revenue. Fragrant rice accounted for the majority of exports, with the European Union remaining the largest market, followed by China and ASEAN member states.

“Cambodia’s presence at ANUGA underscores our commitment to quality, standards, and global competitiveness,” Bora said, adding that the event supports efforts to build direct supply networks and reinforce Cambodia’s reputation as a reliable rice exporter.

From January to August 2025, Cambodia exported more than 420,000 metric tons of milled rice to over 50 countries, generating over $300 million in revenue. China remained the top buyer, followed by France, the Netherlands, and Malaysia. Fragrant rice accounted for nearly 70 percent of total exports, reinforcing Cambodia’s reputation for premium quality in global markets.

Established in 1919, ANUGA has grown into a leading venue for food and beverage industry leaders to shape global trade and policy. Cambodia’s presence underscores its ambition to elevate its rice sector on the world stage.
