Cambodia’s Central Bank Governor Attends Global Financial Inclusion Forum in Namibia
SWAKOPMUND, Namibia — Chea Serey, governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, led a delegation to the Alliance for Financial Inclusion’s annual Global Policy Forum, held Sept. 2–5 in Swakopmund, Namibia.

The forum, organized annually by AFI, brings together central bank leaders, financial regulators, development partners and private sector representatives to share insights, strategies and innovations aimed at advancing financial inclusion worldwide. This year’s theme was “Empowering Rights and Driving Growth Through Financial Inclusion,” and drew more than 800 participants from 90 institutions across 84 countries.
During the event, Serey participated in the AFI Board of Directors meeting, where members reviewed and approved strategic documents and action plans to further promote inclusive finance.

She also spoke at two sessions: AFI Engage, where she shared leadership experiences with emerging young leaders from member countries, and the Inclusive Policy Studio, where she presented Cambodia’s initiatives and innovations in financial inclusion.
AFI is a global organization led by its member institutions, which include central banks and financial regulatory authorities. It plays a leading role in shaping inclusive financial policies and regulations across developing and emerging economies.
