Phnom Penh, 10 March 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prak Sokhonn, will pay official visits to New Zealand and Australia later this month, the foreign ministry announced Tuesday.

Prak Sokhonn will travel to New Zealand from 13 to 14 March at the invitation of Foreign Minister Winston Peters, before heading to Australia from 15 to 16 March at the invitation of Foreign Minister Penny Wong.

During the visits, he is expected to hold bilateral talks with counterparts and national leaders aimed at strengthening cooperation in areas including regional peace, security, stability and economic development.

The trips underscore Cambodia’s longstanding friendship with both countries and reflect a shared commitment to deepening ties and collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region.

Cambodia and New Zealand established diplomatic relations in 1958, with Wellington contributing to development assistance, education and capacity-building programs in the kingdom.

Relations with Australia date back to 1952, with Canberra playing a key role in post-conflict reconstruction, humanitarian aid and regional security cooperation.

Both countries have supported Cambodia’s development and reform efforts through trade, investment and engagement in ASEAN and wider Asia-Pacific frameworks.
