Cambodian FM to Attend ASEAN‑EU Meeting, Visit Brunei

PHNOM PENH, April 25, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn will attend a key ASEAN‑EU ministerial meeting in Brunei next week before making an official visit to the Sultanate, the government announced Saturday.
Prak Sokhonn will lead the Cambodian delegation to the 25th ASEAN‑European Union Ministerial Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan on April 27‑28, ahead of an official visit to Brunei Darussalam on April 29‑30 at the invitation of Foreign Minister II Erywan Pehin Yusof.
The ASEAN‑EU talks come as the two blocs prepare to mark the 50th anniversary of dialogue relations in 2027.
Officials said the meeting would review progress in cooperation and explore ways to strengthen the ASEAN‑EU Strategic Partnership, while also exchanging views on regional and international issues including peace, security and prosperity.
During his visit, Prak Sokhonn is scheduled to have an audience with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, who serves as Brunei’s Prime Minister, and hold bilateral talks with Erywan to deepen ties and expand cooperation.
The trip coincides with preparations to mark the 35th anniversary of Cambodia‑Brunei diplomatic relations in 2027, which officials described as a timely opportunity to reinforce friendship, solidarity and collaboration across multiple sectors.
