Nearly 4,000 attend job forums in western Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, 10 February 2026 (KPT) – Nearly 4,000 people, including former migrant workers returning from Thailand, have taken part in job forums in western Cambodia aimed at linking jobseekers with local employment opportunities.
The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training said 3,713 participants – among them former migrant workers, young people and other Cambodian jobseekers – attended the Labour, Social Security and Vocational Training Forums held in Pailin and Battambang provinces on 7 and 8 February.
Organised under the theme “Khmer People Help Find Jobs and Provide Jobs for Khmer People”, the events were staged at four locations: Sala Krao district and Tep Nimit town in Pailin, and Samlot and Ratanak Mondul districts in Battambang.
Ministry spokesperson Sun Mesa said the forums aimed to provide returning migrant workers with information on job opportunities available within Cambodia, as well as guidance on social security benefits and access to free technical and vocational training.

According to the ministry, 396 participants secured employment during the forums after seven companies, factories and enterprises conducted on-site recruitment.
Mesa encouraged jobseekers who were unable to attend to contact the ministry’s hotline, 1297, which operates daily and provides information on vacancies and free vocational training programmes.
The ministry said it has organised 587 job forums nationwide to date, helping more than 620,000 Cambodians and former migrant workers find employment.
