PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Oct. 8, 2025) — Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence said preparations are underway for the upcoming Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting between Cambodia’s Military Region 4 and Thailand’s Army Area 2.

Brig. Gen. Nith Narong, deputy chief of staff and head of the RBC Secretariat for Cambodia’s 4th Military Region, confirmed that an invitation was sent Oct. 8 to the Thai side.

The letter invites the head of Thailand’s RBC Secretariat for the 2nd Army Area and 10 accompanying members to attend a preparatory meeting scheduled for Oct. 10 in Samrong City, Oddar Meanchey province.

The preparatory meeting will finalize arrangements for the RBC talks, which Cambodia will host Oct. 15–17 in Oddar Meanchey. Officials said the discussions aim to be constructive and yield mutually beneficial outcomes.

The meeting follows a mandate from the General Border Committee and builds on agreements reached at the First Extraordinary RBC Meeting held Aug. 27. Talks will focus on implementing the ceasefire agreement, strengthening cooperation to maintain peace and stability, and restoring normal relations between the two countries.
