DPM Prak Sokhonn Holds Bilateral Talks with European Leaders at ASEAN EU Meeting

PHNOM PENH, April 28, 2026 (KPT) —Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held a series of bilateral meetings with European and Southeast Asian counterparts on the sidelines of the ASEAN EU Ministerial Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan, officials said Tuesday.
On April 27, Sokhonn met Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, with both sides welcoming longstanding ties and pledging to expand cooperation.
Sokhonn expressed appreciation for Prague’s continued development assistance and briefed his counterpart on recent developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
In a separate meeting, Sokhonn held talks with Florian Hahn, Minister of State at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office.
The discussions underscored strong bilateral relations and a shared commitment to deepen cooperation at both bilateral and multilateral levels. Sokhonn again provided an update on the border situation.
Later, Sokhonn met Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the continued growth of bilateral ties and reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen long standing relations, with Sokhonn briefing his counterpart on the latest Cambodia–Thailand border developments.
