Cambodia and Vietnam Reaffirm Commitment to Stronger Bilateral Ties

HANOI, June 10, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Vietnamese President To Lam have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors during talks in Hanoi.
The meeting took place on June 9 during Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s official visit to Vietnam and his participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum.
To Lam, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, praised Cambodia’s socio‑economic progress and recalled the positive outcomes of his state visit to Phnom Penh and the Cambodia‑Laos‑Vietnam Party Summit in February.
He reiterated Vietnam’s support for deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership with Cambodia, while promoting closer trilateral cooperation with Laos.
Samdech Thipadei congratulated Vietnam on hosting the ASEAN Future Forum, describing it as a timely platform for dialogue amid global uncertainty.
He welcomed the steady development of Cambodia‑Vietnam ties and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to advancing cooperation through bilateral and trilateral mechanisms.
The two leaders also discussed expanding collaboration in trade, investment, security, defence and people‑to‑people exchanges, underscoring their shared commitment to regional peace, stability and sustainable development.
