Cambodia and European Tech Firms Explore AI and Industry 4.0 Cooperation
PHNOM PENH, June 10, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia and a delegation of European technology companies have explored cooperation in artificial intelligence, technology transfer and Industry 4.0 adoption as the Kingdom seeks to accelerate industrial modernization, officials said Tuesday.
The talks were held between Heng Sokkung, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, and representatives from leading European firms and institutions.

The delegation included companies specializing in AI training, digital services, cybersecurity, renewable energy, smart infrastructure, waste management, Digital Product Passports and technology consulting. Participants expressed strong interest in investment and partnership opportunities within Cambodia’s expanding innovation ecosystem.
Sokkung outlined efforts to transform Cambodia into a knowledge‑based economy through the Science, Technology and Innovation Roadmap 2030, digital transformation initiatives and industrial upgrading programs. He highlighted priorities including AI adoption, digital skills development, technology transfer and smart manufacturing to boost productivity and competitiveness.
Both sides exchanged views on advanced technologies and industrial innovation, with discussions focusing on how European expertise and investment could support Cambodia’s transition toward Industry 4.0 and a more technology‑driven economy.
