Cambodia National Assembly President Begins Official Visit to Vietnam

PHNOM PENH, July 28, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia’s National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary has begun a three‑day official visit to Vietnam aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and expanding parliamentary cooperation.

Khuon Sudary arrived in Hanoi on July 27 at the invitation of Tran Thanh Man, President of Vietnam’s National Assembly.

The visit, which runs until July 29, is intended to deepen cooperation between the two countries’ legislative and executive institutions while promoting parliamentary diplomacy and people‑to‑people exchanges.

According to Cambodia’s National Assembly, the programme reflects the framework of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long‑term stability.”

Khuon Sudary is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and hold bilateral talks with Tran Thanh Man.

She will also meet Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. Committee chairpersons from Cambodia’s National Assembly will hold separate meetings with their Vietnamese counterparts to exchange views and share legislative experience.

The delegation is due to visit Viettel and Central Military Hospital 108, with the aim of promoting cooperation in the digital economy, innovation and healthcare.

The visit underscores the importance both Cambodia and Vietnam place on parliamentary diplomacy as part of their broader relationship, as the two neighbours seek to deepen cooperation across governance, trade, technology and public health.
