Cambodian Assembly president to visit Viet Nam next week

PHNOM PENH, July 24 (KPT)— Samdech Khuon Sudary, President of Cambodia’s National Assembly, will lead a high‑level delegation to Viet Nam from July 27 to 29 at the invitation of Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly.

The visit is described as both official and friendship, aimed at advancing the spirit of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long‑term stability.” It seeks to deepen parliamentary ties and deliver tangible benefits for both nations.

According to the programme, the Cambodian delegation will pay a courtesy call on To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of Viet Nam.

Bilateral talks are scheduled with Tran Thanh Man, while meetings are also planned with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

Commission members of Cambodia’s National Assembly will hold separate sessions with Vietnamese counterparts to exchange information, share experiences and strengthen cooperation between the two legislatures.

Beyond political meetings, the delegation will visit Viettel and Central Military Hospital 108. These engagements are intended to bolster people‑to‑people links and expand collaboration in the digital economy, innovation and healthcare.

The trip underscores the importance both sides place on parliamentary diplomacy as a pillar of bilateral relations.

It comes amid efforts by Phnom Penh and Hanoi to reinforce trust and broaden cooperation across sectors, from governance and trade to technology and public health.
