Cambodia Tops Asia-Pacific Greenfield FDI Performance as Investment Hits $10 Billion
PHNOM PENH, Mar. 5, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia ranked first in Asia-Pacific and ninth worldwide in the Greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Performance Index for 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol said Wednesday.
Speaking at the Cambodia–ASEAN Business Summit, Chanthol cited Financial Times’ FDI Intelligence data showing Cambodia’s rise as one of the region’s most attractive investment destinations.

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approved 630 qualified projects last year worth about $10 billion, marking sharp growth in both volume and value compared with 2024.
Chanthol, also First Vice Chairman of CDC, said the surge reflects investor confidence in Cambodia’s liberal investment regime, political and macroeconomic stability, and youthful workforce.
He added that Cambodia enjoys strong market access through ASEAN’s 680 million consumers and preferential trade with major global partners.
“Cambodia is in a good position to welcome investment and expand trade with the world,” Chanthol said, urging global investors to consider the country as a strategic base for regional operations.
