Cambodia, Belarus Exchange Independence Day Messages, Pledge Closer Cooperation
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov.29,2025) — Cambodia and Belarus reaffirmed their friendship and pledged to expand bilateral and inter-parliamentary cooperation in messages exchanged on the 72nd anniversary of Cambodia’s Independence Day.
Samdech Hun Sen, president of Cambodia’s Senate, thanked Natalia Kochanova, president of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, for her congratulatory note.
In his reply, Hun Sen cited the “cordial friendship and multifaceted cooperation” between the two countries and expressed readiness to strengthen ties through inter-parliamentary dialogue, both bilaterally and in international forums.
Kochanova, in her message, emphasized the longstanding relations between Cambodia and Belarus, noting their constructive engagement in international forums and mutual support for international law.
She pointed to growing political, economic, trade, and humanitarian exchanges and said there was potential for deeper cooperation through mechanisms such as the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Both leaders said they hoped collaboration would continue to benefit the peoples of Cambodia and Belarus and contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity.
