PHNOM PENH, March 20, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia and Brazil vowed to deepen bilateral ties after high-level talks in Phnom Penh, officials said Thursday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn met Brazilian diplomat Susan Kleebank on March 19 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside the second round of consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries.
Both sides hailed the “positive trajectory” of relations and noted progress in trade, investment, tourism, agriculture and renewable energy. Cooperation in demining, education, environmental protection and parliamentary exchanges was also highlighted as key pillars of the partnership.
Kleebank reaffirmed Brazil’s commitment to expanding cooperation, while both countries pledged to support each other in regional and multilateral frameworks.
Sokhonn briefed the delegation on developments along the Cambodia–Thailand border and thanked Brazil for backing ceasefire and peace efforts.
