PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Dec. 2, 2025) — Cambodia and the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) have agreed to deepen cooperation to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and expand investment opportunities, following a high-level meeting between Tourism Minister Huot Hak and a USABC delegation led by Ambassador Ted Osius.

The delegation — featuring representatives from major American companies including ConocoPhillips, Marriott International, Mastercard, Visa, Ford & RMA, Coca-Cola and Vriens & Partners — is conducting a fact-finding mission to assess Cambodia’s tourism landscape and broader investment climate.

Ambassador Osius praised Cambodia’s rapid development since his first visit in 1996 and highlighted the continued satisfaction of U.S. investors already operating in the country. The USABC delegation expressed interest in exploring new areas of investment.

Hak thanked U.S. companies for choosing Cambodia for multi-million-dollar investments, saying their confidence reflects the country’s strong leadership, peace, political stability and pro-investment policies. He reaffirmed the Royal Government’s commitment to supporting foreign investors and promoting Cambodia as a high-potential tourism and investment destination.

Both sides agreed to work together to widen promotion efforts, aiming to attract more American tourists and investors to visit, explore and invest in Cambodia.

Cambodia–U.S. trade surged in the first 10 months of 2025, reaching $10.7 billion, a 27 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024. According to the General Department of Customs and Excise, Cambodia’s exports to the United States totaled $10.4 billion, up 26.4 percent, while imports from the U.S. rose nearly 50 percent to $326 million.

The United States remains Cambodia’s largest export destination, with trade momentum strengthened by a new tariff agreement that took effect in August. In October alone, bilateral trade exceeded $1.1 billion, underscoring the growing economic ties between the two countries.
