PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (Nov. 28, 2025) — King Norodom Sihamoni called on Cambodians to maintain unity and solidarity as the Kingdom faces threats to its sovereignty and territorial integrity. The monarch delivered the appeal in his royal address at the opening of the 5th Session of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly on Friday.

He commended lawmakers and parliamentary committees for engaging with provinces, supporting citizens affected by border conflicts and working closely with the armed forces.
King Sihamoni highlighted government achievements in human resources, transport, electricity, water and technology, underscoring Cambodia’s long-term goals of reaching upper-middle-income status by 2030 and high-income status by 2050.

He also recognized the resilience of Cambodian citizens at home and abroad for safeguarding peace, territorial integrity and national values.
The King acknowledged National Assembly President Khuon Sudary and her deputies for their leadership and accountability, concluding with prayers for the health, prosperity and well-being of all Cambodians.
