Singapore Pledges to Deepen Ties with Cambodia Across All Sectors

PHNOM PENH, May 16, 2026 (KPT) — Singapore has pledged to further strengthen and expand relations with Cambodia across all sectors following talks between senior officials in Phnom Penh.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn met Singapore’s newly appointed ambassador, Pang Chee Wee, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
Sokhonn congratulated the envoy on his appointment and reaffirmed Cambodia’s full support for his diplomatic mission, expressing confidence that bilateral ties would continue to grow.
Ambassador Pang thanked the Cambodian government and the ministry for their cooperation with the Singaporean embassy, vowing to broaden the already positive relationship in all areas of collaboration.
The meeting also touched on regional issues, with Sokhonn briefing the ambassador on recent developments concerning the Cambodia‑Thailand border situation.
