PHNOM PENH, May 19, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia and Singapore have reaffirmed their strong relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors during talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and Singapore’s Ambassador Pang Chee Wee, the foreign ministry said Tuesday.

Prak Sokhonn welcomed and congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, pledging full support for his diplomatic mission.

Pang thanked Cambodian officials for their cooperation and vowed to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the long‑standing friendship and growing collaboration in politics, security, trade, investment, tourism, education, technical training, culture and people‑to‑people exchanges.

They noted rising connectivity, citing 42 weekly flights between the two countries that bolster business and tourism links.

The two governments welcomed the April signing of a food security memorandum aimed at boosting Cambodian agricultural exports, with Singapore showing interest in importing more fruits, vegetables and rice.

They also highlighted the role of the Cambodia‑Singapore Cooperation Centre in supporting human resource development and technical training.

On security, both sides pledged to combat transnational crime, including online scams and cybercrime. Prak briefed the ambassador on Cambodia’s new law targeting scam operations.

Tourism cooperation was also discussed, with ongoing collaboration between Singapore Airlines and the Cambodia Tourism Board to promote Cambodia as a destination. Prak additionally updated Pang on the Cambodia–Thailand border situation.
