PHNOM PENH, Mar. 10, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodia has reiterated its commitment to peace, international law, and the December 2025 joint statement in addressing border issues with Thailand, government spokesperson Pen Bona said Tuesday.

Speaking at a press briefing, Bona stressed that Cambodia strictly observes the ceasefire and all points outlined in the December 27 statement, as well as previous agreements.

He said the country maintains a firm stance on protecting the Cambodia–Thailand border based on historical treaties, official maps, and records from the Indo Chinese–Siamese Border Commission, rejecting any unilateral changes imposed by force.

Bona highlighted the government’s continued support for families of fallen soldiers. On March 9, First Lady Pich Chanmony Hun Manet visited Kompong Chhnang Province to present new homes and deliver financial and material assistance.

She also paid respects to the spirits of the fallen, conveying condolences from Prime Minister Hun Manet and former premier Hun Sen.

He said initiatives such as housing, scholarships, debt relief, and livelihood support reflect a consistent policy to honor the bravery of Cambodia’s armed forces.

Bona added that Cambodia’s diplomatic approach to resolving disputes has been positively received by the international community, underscoring its commitment to protecting lives and preserving social stability.
