Cambodia Courts French Investment in Green Energy, Manufacturing and Digital Innovation at Paris Economic Forum

PARIS, June 22, 2026 (KPT) – Cambodia has intensified efforts to attract French investment in renewable energy, manufacturing and digital innovation during the 4th International Economic Forum on Southeast Asia and the Viva Technology (VivaTech) exhibition in Paris, officials said Monday.

Chheang Christophe, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, led the Cambodian delegation at the high-level events on June 18-19, part of a mission to showcase the Kingdom’s trade and investment potential and encourage French businesses to explore opportunities in Cambodia.

Speaking at the forum organized by the French Senate, Christophe highlighted Cambodia’s economic progress and long-term ambitions under its Vision 2050 strategy. He pointed to an improving investment climate, expanded market access through multiple free trade agreements, streamlined trade facilitation, and incentive schemes designed to support foreign investors.

He identified promising sectors for French companies, including value-added manufacturing, construction materials, renewable energy, agro-processing, logistics, and digital technologies for education and vocational training. Tourism, hospitality, gastronomy and healthcare services were also flagged as areas with strong growth potential.

On the sidelines, Christophe visited VivaTech, one of Europe’s leading technology exhibitions, to explore emerging trends and opportunities for collaboration in digital innovation. The visit forms part of Cambodia’s broader push to attract investment in technology-driven sectors and diversify its economy.

Christophe also briefed participants on Cambodia’s preparations to host the 20th Francophonie Summit and announced the upcoming 3rd Cambodia-France Business Forum, scheduled for November 2026.
