HANOI, June 8, 2026 (KPT) — Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Le Minh Hung in Hanoi on Monday, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

The meeting comes as Cambodia and Vietnam prepare to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year, a milestone both governments say offers an opportunity to deepen their comprehensive partnership.

Officials said the talks covered trade, investment, connectivity and people‑to‑people exchanges, reflecting the two countries’ shared interest in promoting peace and regional stability.

Following the discussions, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Le Minh Hung presided over the signing of the 2026–2030 Information Cooperation Plan between Cambodia’s Ministry of Information and Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in media and information fields, further consolidating ties between the two neighbours.

Samdech Thipadei also paid a courtesy call on To Lam, with both leaders underscoring the importance of continued cooperation at bilateral and regional levels.

His delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, senior officials and business representatives.

The meetings took place during Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet’s official visit to Vietnam, where he is also attending the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum.

He is scheduled to deliver a keynote address highlighting regional cooperation, economic integration and sustainable development, underscoring Cambodia’s role in advancing ASEAN’s collective agenda.
